Pictures of the Exhibitionists / Burning the Negatives

(c) 1993 Shattered Image

Every time I see you smile
It reminds me of a summer breeze in Autumn …
But then the darkness comes
And I don’t know why I sit alone
Crying like a baby…
Without shame
I saw you at a sidewalk cafe
Your coffee colder than the city streets at night
why were you waiting for him?
You left your tears on the table again
But still you waited…
So I slipped away

Maybe someday we’ll learn not to fall so hard

Standing there Beside the Lake
Peace and understanding were found
In your arms
But now with dying grace
Shadows Dance off on their own
And stars are only light…
Still I can dream
